Grès Stoneware Tile or as some refer to Grès Porcelain Stoneware is a harder ceramic, with a compact, hard, colored and non-porous body with only 3% water absorption. "Grès” means that the ceramic tile's body is highly vitrified, compact, producing a final result of great resistance. The product is fired in a kiln at 1200-1400 C° until the vitrification process is complete.
Although not strong as porcelain tiles, Grès Stoneware tiles offer a great value, positioning itself right in the middle - between standard ceramic and porcelain tiles, on both strength and price.
