The Purpose of a Kitchen Backsplash Tile

Even though they ultimately add a flair of elegance and style, choosing the suitable material, finish, and color that coordinates well with your space is essential. And we’re proud to offer a wide array of backsplash tile options that vary in finishes, style, patterns, colors, and materials. You can shop for the most exciting designs that bring life to your kitchen without renovating the entire space.

Last but not least, using a distressed look subway tile will give your the right and timeless aesthetic for your kitchen and bathroom walls. They are available in classic and trendy colors such as white, aqua, iron, and rust.
What grout color should I use for the kitchen backsplash tile?
We often get asked about the color of the grout used with the backsplash. So, choosing a darker grout shade can hide the possible stains and spills in the kitchen. In terms of colors, following the same color pattern is a "no mistake" path, and you can even use darker or lighter tones to create a nice contrast. However, finding grout the same color as the tile is not always possible. In this case, we recommend using a neutral grout color.
The most common neutral grout colors are white, grey, and biscuit - a lighter shade of beige. When grouting multi-colored mosaic tiles, especially glass, one grout stands out: a urethane translucent grout, also known as clear grout. Clear grout doesn't mean it is transparent, so you can see an object behind it, for example. A clear grout has micro particles of glass in its formula, allowing it to reflect its surrounding. So the same grout will look lighter or darker depending on the tile.
How to Choose a Backsplash Tile?
The question is: Where do I start? If you look at your kitchen from outside - I would say five to ten feet away from it, you will notice a color pattern. Assuming you are happy with it, you can start by picturing the backsplash covered by a lovely glass mosaic tile. If you have stainless steel appliances, coordinate them with stainless steel tiles, or a mix of stainless steel and glass tiles. Looking for a classic approach? Sure. Why not use a ceramic subway tile? They are available in the undying 3x6 inches format or a more modern twist, such as 3x12 or 2x12 inches.
In terms of colors, following the same color pattern is a "no mistake" path, and you can even use darker or lighter tones to create a nice contrast. Also, because most glass tiles come as mosaics, you can pick a blend instead of solid colors. That will give a lot of character to your kitchen backsplash without driving it away from your color palette.
